Established in 1984 operating from a single office, Jackson Quinn has since grown rapidly, extending to a network of five offices and continually expanding the range of services provided.
Peter Quinn began the firm, then called Quinn’s Solicitors, in 1984. Linda Jackson joined Peter in April 1985 and the name changed to Jackson Quinn. The first office was on Canal Street in Nottingham, taking over the premises operated by Quinn’s Solicitors, Peter’s previous firm.
The Worksop office opened in the Autumn of 1985, with both offices dealing with civil, criminal, family and property law. The firm expanded rapidly, and quickly outgrew the premises in Nottingham. The firm took on the current premises on Carrington Street in Nottingham in May 1988, and around the same time opened an office in Retford. The Retford office too expanded and moved premises, with the current offices on Grove Street opening their doors in October 1995.
Throughout this time the firm had offered clients a full range of legal services. Over the years the partnership has developed, and both of the founding partners have retired from the practice.
As the constraints on solicitors firms and public funding issues generally have changed, the firm has evolved to meet the needs of it’s clients and to focus on the expertise of the partners and staff.
The firm ceased to undertake civil litigation in 2004, and criminal law in 2005. The firm’s principal expertise remains in relation to family law issues, residential and commercial property, and wills and probate, and it is in these areas that the firm continues to thrive.
In 2006 Jackson Quinn opened an office in Newark, and in 2010, another in Mansfield. These two offices have since relocated and are now based in shared office facilities at Northgate Business Centre and Ladybrook Community Centre respectively. The firm now has five offices across Nottinghamshire, and deals with work from all around the county, and beyond.
