Family Secretary

We are looking for a part time experienced secretary to assist and support our busy family department at our Retford office. Previous secretarial experience is essential and experience within law would be preferable.

Family Law Paralegal

Jackson Quinn are looking for a Paralegal to provide support to our busy Family Law Department on a fixed term contract with a view of hopefully securing a permanent role. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to join a busy firm and will be supporting Fee Earners in the department. This position is based in Nottingham Town Centre.

The successful candidate must have a strong background in providing legal support and be comfortable with a wide variety of people. They will provide support including liaising with courts, barristers’ chambers, other solicitors and clients, preparing bundles and statements, viewing medical notes, making funding applications and billing.

Candidate Specification

  • Organisation skills and the ability to multi-task, prioritising and managing processes is essential
  • Minimum of 2 years Legal Experience
  • Good IT skills particularly MS Office
  • Competent written and spoken communication skills
  • Good people skills
  • Strong sense of discretion
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong sense of responsibility and ability to complete tasks with minimal supervision

Hours 9.00 am to 5.00 pm Monday to Friday (Flexible hours / days will be considered)

Part-time Experienced Wills/Wills & Probate Executive

Jackson Quinn are looking for an experienced Wills/Wills & Probate executive to join our firm.

The successful candidate must have experience of handling their own caseload of Wills/Wills and Probate work. Duties and responsibilities will include handling a varied caseload of Wills, and lasting powers of attorney matters, with the possibility of trusts, estates, court of protection and probate matters depending on experience. Salary, working hours and office location can be negotiated for the right candidate.

Childcare Lawyer

We are looking to recruit an experienced childcare lawyer to deal with their own busy case load of public law Children Act proceedings.

Experience of representing parents, other family members and children in public law proceedings is essential, together with a proven track record of managing a full and varied case load and undertaking advocacy in all levels of court. The Role & Responsibilities:

 

  • The successful person will demonstrate experience in dealing with all aspects of public law proceedings, to include care and supervision order proceedings, placement order proceedings, adoption and complex private children matters.
  • You must be able to manage your own case load efficiently and with minimal supervision.
  • You must be willing and able to undertake advocacy on your cases in all levels of court, to include contested hearings, and assist other colleagues within the department in conducting hearings on their behalf as required.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Have experience of dealing with all aspects of public law proceedings, adoption, and complex private law children matters.
  • Be an accredited Children’s Representative with the Law Society.
  • Have a proven track record of establishing close working relationships with professional clients including Children’s Guardians and the ability to establish a following in this area of work.
  • Experience and knowledge of Legal Aid.
  • Knowledge of Solicitors Accounting Regulations.
  • A team player.
  • The ability to support and work as part of a friendly team in a high street solicitors’ office.
  • Willing and able to travel as required between offices and to court.
  • Able to build and maintain good rapport with clients and other professionals, as well as provide clear and accurate advice.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • The ability to prioritise work to ensure that cases are progressed efficiently and in the best interests of the client, and emergency matters are dealt with urgently as required.
  • Innovative and determined.
  • A strong advocate who is willing and able to undertake advocacy in all levels of court, including contested hearings.

This is a full time permanent position.
